The master SUV builder is developing autonomous off-road driving technology for its future range of SUVs, and the industry is buzzing with excitement. If you enjoy the thrill of off-roading, you’ll want to read about this exciting technology!
Jeep’s Vision: Past, Present, and Future
Jeep first established itself as the undisputed 4x4 brand 80 years ago in the 1940s as a vehicle for Allied forces worldwide. The brand has always led the industry with innovative technology and versatility.
Today, the Jeep range includes the Cherokee, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee WK, Compass, Renegade, Wrangler, Grand Wagoneer, and Wagoneer. The Cherokee and Wrangler are Jeep’s first 4xe vehicles. These models are taking the manufacturer into the future with its fully electrified, zero-emission 2025 vision.
Jeep is planning to offer all its models in electrified variants by 2025. The brand is, once again, leading the pack with its exclusively-developed prototype Cherokee 4xe SUVs that feature off-road AI and automated technology.
2023 Prototype Test: Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe
The prototype test was conducted near the desert, close to Moab, with two Grand Cherokee 4xe SUVs. These SUVs performed exceptionally well on very challenging terrain in AI and automated mode in all areas, including manoeuvrability, articulation, ground clearance, water fording, and traction.
