Jeep unveils the first three EVs - coming to market in 2023
January 20 2023,
After the success of plug-in electric vehicles (PHEVs), including the Jeep Wrangler PHEV 4xe, Jeep unveils the first three EVs – coming to Canada in 2024. This raises the bar for more challenges in the market.
As announced in September 2022, the company is releasing the first three fully electric vehicles in 2023. It’ll start early bookings while kicking off production in 2024.
Two EVs, Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S will be Jeep’s asset to lead the EV SUV market in the US. While the third model – Jeep Avenger, will be sent to compete in European markets.
What's New?
The Jeep Recon model is inspired by the successful PHEV Wrangler 4xe, embedding similar designs and specifications. The Wagoneer S electric vehicle is a continuation of Jeep’s premium car with an EV aspect. While the Avenger will make its first appearance on the first edition of the new EV in Europe.
Interior layout and options
The Jeep Recon EV will be the best choice for those who love adventures in a silent cabin. Plus, you’ll enjoy sitting on top-notch leather seats that provide comfort and convenience on every road trip.
The Jeep Wagoneer S will keep its premium touch on the features and surfaces of this EV, with a large sunroof for everyone to enjoy the scenery from inside the cabin.
However, the Jeep Avenger focuses on neat design and minimality, making the interior more functional and modern. You’ll see coloured accents and stitches featuring the dashboard and surroundings.
Exterior design and options
Jeep Recon focuses on outdoor experiences, and just like the Wrangler model, this one comes with removable doors and windows to indulge in the most extreme adventures. Additionally, the extra-large wheel and puffy tires enable you to drive over any terrain.
With its elevated style, the Wagoneer S EV features an illuminated seven-spoked front grille that turns heads everywhere you go. Plus, a lip spoiler at the back and the dark accents on the door handles and bumpers distinguish the car well.
The Jeep Avenger EV design will push the boundaries with a boxed design that’s more functional and distinct. The car stands on four 18-inch wheels with dark chrome alloys. Also, you can find black chrome accents on the front grille, headlights, and across the roof.
Technology, infotainment, and connectivity
Electric vehicles mean more technology and convenience to comfort you while driving, which none of these cars lack. The Recon model will include the most upgraded Uconnect infotainment system with GPS navigation, besides the Selec-Terrain shifter to choose the driving mode.
Moreover, the classy Wagoneer S EV will continue adding more comfort. This includes heated seats, steering wheel, and side mirrors and a touchscreen infotainment system, with a smartphone connection.
The Avenger model will include a double 10.3-inch digital screen with a Uconnect infotainment system. This will give you more accessibility and control of everything in one touch. Moreover, this EV will include a Bluetooth connection, Apple and Android wireless connections, and a wireless charging hub.
Safety and driver assistance features
A robust set of security systems ensure your safety while driving any of these EVs. The advanced driver’s assistance system takes auto-pilot to another level, keeping a safe distance with the cars in front and behind you and centring the car in the driving lane.
Dozens of cameras and sensors wrap these EVs, enabling you to envision blind-spots, and making parking and reversing an easier and safer process. Furthermore, accident mitigation systems like the front and rear collision mitigation work rapidly to avoid crashing, applying emergency brakes if necessary.
